Additional Details

first edition in the scarce original packaging, inscribed and signed by famed pop-up designer waldo (wally) hunt on title-page. Hunt is given credit for the revival and renaissance of the pop-up and moveable book genre. The Index Book was among his most famous creations, along with The Human Body, by Jonathan Miller and David Pelham (Viking Press, 1983), featuring movable internal organs; The Honeybee and the Robber (Philomel, 1981), a moving picture book by Eric Carle; Jan Pienkowski's 'Haunted House' (Heinemann, 1979), which received the Kate Greenaway Medal, a prestigious British prize for children's book illustration, and the pop-up version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Scholastic, 2002). Tipped into this volume is an Autograph Note Signed by Hunt (to same person as inscription), mentioning that he took this copy of the Warhol book to a Harry Potter presentation.
