SIGNED IN FULL WASHINGTON, GEORGE. Autograph Document Signed, in the third person within the text ("George Washington"), receipt for £5 to Calib Stone: "April 29th 1775. Then received from George Washington the sum of Five pounds." Written above Washington's text is Caleb Stone's note to him, requesting the loan, signed twice by Stone. Docketing on verso is likely in the hand Lund Washington. 1 page, 2 1/2x6 1/2 inches; remnants of prior mounting at corners verso, faint scattered soiling, minor ink burn affecting few letters of Washington's text, folds.
