Additional Details

an important major general, inducted into the society of the cincinnati on july fourth. Parsons (1737-89) was a member of Connecticut's Committee of Correspondence prior to the war and led a regiment of militia at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Commissioned a Brigadier General in the Continental Army in August 1776, Parsons served with distinction at the Battle of Long Island and the Battle of White Plains. He is also noted as having served on the court martial of Major Andre.
