One of only several impressions. Signed in pencil, lower right, and inscribed (in Cyrillic ?) in pencil, lower left. Ex-collection William A. Hewitt. A superb, richly-inked impression of this extremely scarce print.
Roethel cites only 2 impressions: at the Musé National d'Art Moderne, Paris (Legacy Nina Kandinsky) and at the Tretjakov Gallery, Moscow. Another impression, which sold at Sotheby's, London, June, 1997, lot 336, appears to have been printed similarly, only less brightly, to the current impression. We have found only several impressions at auction in the past 20 years. Roethel 53.
