WATCH MIRROR. A borrowed watch is seemingly placed in the barrel of a gun. The magician shoots the pistol at a mirror held by his assistant at arm's length. Under the impact of the shot, the mirror is shattered and the borrowed watch appears suspended in the center of the mirror's frame. A particularly fine example of this device with a beautiful wooden mirror frame backed with black painted metal, supported by a nickel-plated metal handle. 14 1/4 inches long (36 cm). Accompanied by three additional unbroken mirrors. France, circa 1875.
