Offered here, a previously unknown variant of Watkins's "Geyser Canyon, Looking Up, Sonoma County" (Naef catalogue no. 798; CEW/Taber 468). Like many of Watkins's mammoth plates, this image is related to the stereoviews made of the same location, however, not identical to any of them. Watkins is the only photographer known to have worked at the Sonoma Geysers with a mammoth plate camera.
