WEBER, CARL MARIA VON. Autograph Letter Signed, "C. MvWeber," to music publisher Ambrosius Kühnel, in German, sending the Overture in D minor [Ruler of the Spirits?] and the Variations [neither present], asking that the latter be published quickly so that it might be a surprise for his student Ms. von Wiebking, remarking that his evenings are spent with the Duke, anticipating the return of Prince Friedrich [in whose palace Weber was staying], mentioning the upcoming concert in which Weber and Spohr and Hermstedt are to participate, adding that he has heard Andreas Romberg's [Lied von der] Glocke too many times, and, in a postscript, expressing hope that Stecher can figure out what was meant by the sloppy notation of the Varations. 1 page, 4to; loss from seal tear to upper edge (without affecting text), addressed in his hand on verso, faint scattered foxing. Gotha, 23 September 1812
