WEIMER PURSELL (1906-1974) CHICAGO'S WORLD'S FAIR. 1933.
41 1/2x28 inches. Neely Printing Co., Chicago.
Condition A.
Pursell designed several posters for the 1933 World's Fair. In these images he took an architectural approach which was of excellent quality, using flat colors with no outlining. His solution, placing little views of the Fair along the bottom of the image (no doubt in keeping with the Fair organizers' intentions) is cleverly handled and leaves the primary image fresh, qualities seldom found in American posters of that era.
