WES WILSON (1937- ) AN EXHIBITION OF PSYCHEDELIC POSTERS. 1967.
20x14 inches, 50 3/4x35 1/2 cm. Double-H Press, San Francisco.

Clearly conscious of their own appeal, historical importance and downright grooviness, exhibitions of psychedelic posters were held during their own era. This poster promotes a psychedelic poster exhibition at U.C. Berkeley commemorating the groundbreaking of the University Art Museum. Created by Wes Wilson, one of the master designers within the genre, it carries the archetypal hallmarks of the psychedelic movement of 1960s California - combining Viennese Secessionist inspired lettering and LSD-fueled color schemes to create a unique visual experience. This is the 1st printing.
