first edition of wescott's first book. one of 200 copies. inscribed and signed by wescott to poet louise bogan and with an autograph letter signed by her to wescott. Discusses the two works Poems in Folio and The Meeting, expressing the wish to introduce Wescott to writer William Kennedy, and mentioning John Betjemin, among other topics. Laid in is Bogan's poem The Meeting, marked by Wescott. At Bogan's request in 1957, famed editor William Maxwell urged Wescott to write for The New Yorker.
