One-page publisher's advertisement at end. 12mo, original green cloth, lettered in gilt and blind, with Emerson's famous greeting in gilt at foot of spine, spine very slightly darkened with faint rubbing and cosmetic touch-ups to tips, boards quite clean; yellow-coated endpapers, redspeckled edges; scattered foxing throughout, front flyleaf with early ownership inscription and short tear with repair, newsprint clipping laid-down to verso of first preliminary leaf, discreet bookseller's label to front pastedown; preserved in chemise and 1/4 morocco clamshell box. The final section, "Leaves-Droppings," begins with the famous Emerson letter quoted on the book's spine.
