Whitney," twice, to Commissary General Callender Irvine, stating [on page 2] that the letter to him of July 9 was not received, sending a signed holograph copy of the lost letter [on page 1], reporting that 500 muskets are ready to be delivered and that 500 more are ready for inspection. 2 pages, 4to, with integral address leaf addressed in his hand; moderate bleed-through affecting text and signature of copy. "A copy of Gen'l Armstrong's letter to you of the 25th . . . has been furnished to me from the Department of War. . . ."
