A New Edition, printed the same year as the first. Wilberforce, a leading voice against slavery, was one of the chief authors of the bill that was passed by Parliament abolishing the slave trade in 1807, and eventually emancipating the slaves of the West Indies in 1834. This copy belonged to Philadelphia merchant and philanthropist Thomas Pym Cope (1768-1854) and is Signed by him on the title-page. Sabin 103951.
