Additional Details

Will Barnet's use of repetitive patterns as well as a bold left to right diagonal composition in this work create a rhythmic staccato movement and a provocative separation between the two female subjects.

The White Stairway, Barnet's color screenprint for which the present work is a study for, was printed by Fine Creations, Inc., New York and published by Associated American Artists, New York in 1974 (see Szoke 154).
