Provenance: Babcock Galleries, New York, with the label; estate of the artist.
The current work on vellum is likely a preparatory sketch for an unrealized lithograph and resembles Barnet's (1911-2012) color lithograph, Woman by the Sea, 1973 (see Szoke 152). It is related to the artist's early Maine series inspired by the Barnet family's summer visit to Chamberlain, Maine.
