WILLIAM ADDISON DWIGGINS (1880-1956)

TOWARDS A REFORM OF THE PAPER CURRENCY. 1932.

11x7 3/4 inches, 28x19 1/2 cm. Walpole Printing Office, New Rochelle.
Condition A-: minor wear and rubbing to covers and spine; in original patterned covers with black spine with gilt lettering; wear, soiling and separation to beige slipcase. Hand-signed and numbered by Dwiggins in ink, number 129 of 452 copies.

The culmination of Dwiggins' criticisms of U.S. currency and the U.S. Printing Office, was this book proposing improvements to the design of paper money, postage stamps and more. The Limited Editions Club reluctantly agreed to publish Dwiggins' writings, with the caveat that they would print only as many copies as were ordered by subscribers, amounting to 452 in total.
