WILLIAM C. MCNULTY In the Fifties (The Whirlpool).
Etching, circa 1930. 340x180 mm; 13 1/4x7 inches, full margins. Signed in pencil, lower margin. A very good impression.
McNulty (1889-1963) was born in Ogden, Utah, and studied during the early 1900s at the Art Students League in New York. He made etchings of New York from the late 1920s onward, following the encouragement of Joseph Pennell (see lots 100-102), and also became a successful editorial cartoonist for the Seattle Star.
