In 1922, the Zorachs (William and his wife Marguerite) were introduced to the coastal town of Georgetown, Maine, by sculptor Gaston Lachaise and his wife Isabel, who owned a home. The next year the Zorachs purchased a 19th-century house set on 100 acres on Georgetown's Robinhood Cove, where they spent their subsequent summers.
