Oblong folio, 11x17 inches, original stitch sewn blue pictorial printed wrappers, each part numbered in manuscript ink, some sympathetic repairs; fresh and bright original hand-coloring; many sheets with a JWhatman watermark dated variously between 1804 and 1808, untrimmed deckle edges in many instances; several plates with small repairs. the first sixteen parts in original wrappers. A beautiful preservation of the earliest plates of Woodward's serial magazine of caricature. Each wrapper includes two hand-colored etchings satirizing various elements of nineteenth century British social and political themes. A scarce and extremely appealing survival.
