first edition of this account of the 800-mile lifeboat journey to South Georgia Island by Worsley as navigator, Shackleton, and 4 others to arrange the rescue of their remaining crewmates during the abortive Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914-17. Spence 1279. signed by worsley on the title page. From the library of the Antarctic research ship R. R. S. Discovery with its bookplate on the front pastedown, and inscription "Heave Ho, Discovery!" in an undetermined hand on the facing endpaper.
