Virtually the whole of New England is shown including the northern parts of Rhode Island and Connecticut. Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are shown in full. The whole of upstate New York is included. Also shown are the northern part of Pennsylvania and parts of Michigan and Ohio. The map's importance lays in the detailed delineation of canals (in blue) and railroads (in red) - with a high concentration in Massachusetts and upstate New York. Not in Rumsey or Modelski.
