Octavo, [A]2, B-C4, D3; front blank with author's gift inscription to Dr. John Conrad Otto (1774-1844), "the compliments of his fellow graduate, the author," inscription slightly trimmed at fore-edge, this copy is disbound, with some spotting and staining, missing top diagonal blank corner of presentation leaf, 7 3/4 x 4 3/4 in.

Wilson presented this paper as a medical degree candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. Otto (1774-1844) produced pioneering research on hemophilia and succeeded the great Benjamin Rush as clinical lecturer at Pennsylvania Hospital.
