Wolf worked as a WPA photographer in Detroit, where she documented federally funded projects in the area. Wolf founded Friends of Central Park and lived to the age of 102.
N.B. Estelle Wolf was a student of the Clarence White School of Photography from 1931-1932. During this period, she formed the photographic partnership Grinnell-Wolf, possibly with Clarence White School classmate Peter Grinnell. The signature here reflects the Grinnell-Wolf signature, and is in her hand.
