In 1936, he immigrated to America at the behest of Josef Albers, who invited him to teach at Black Mountain College; Schawinsky remained there for the duration of the war, working with such luminaries as Breuer and Walter Gropius. Rare. This poster has not previously been attributed to Schawinsky. The majority of his posters were designed prior to his immigrating to America. Airlines p. 34.
