With new musical trends emerging from both Britain and the United States, small record importers flourished in the capital cities of Europe as the only places to find many of the new musical novelties. Here, evoking LPs, hippies and the psychedelic movement, the artist taps into the musical zeitgeist and provides the perfect image. These small record stores were replaced by the megastores of the 1980s and 1990s, and now completely by the internet, making this an historical document of a bygone era when people actually bought albums in stores.
