Georgi Zelma's photographs of the mines and factories in the Donbass region, the collective farms in the Tula province, and the Soviet Military maeuvers in the Black Sea region were published in Pravda Vostoka, USSR in Construction, and others. (Truth of the East). During World War II, Zelma was a correspondent for Izvestia. He spent the severe winter of 1942-43 in Stalingrad photographing the devastation of the city.<
