Additional Details

The mysterious, eccentric photographer Theodore Zichy claimed to be of nobel lineage. He set up a studio in London where he produced a series of fetishist images that foreshadow the works of Helmut Newton and Pierre Molinier, the transvestite performance artist. Zichy's obsession with long-legged women has a sado-masochistic edge that is heightened by the dramatic chiaruscuro lighting he uses so effectively. While Zichy characterized this effort as "a first edition prepared in one hundred numbered and autographed copies. . . intended for the photographer's friends," this copy is unnumbered.<
