"Moulin Bleu" * "Le Lustre Parisien Chiffons." Together, two fanciful costume designs created for Parisian follies shows, likely Casino de Paris, circa 1920s. Watercolor, gouache, and graphite, heightened in gold and silver details, on paper. 470x317 mm; 18 1/2x12 1/2 inches, sheets. Signed in lower margins, numerical inventory stamps and some designs with scene or title notations on verso.

Additional Details

"Moulin Bleu," shows the characteristicly grand windmill headpiece of Le Moulin Rouge; "Le Lustre Parisien" contains an additional signature ("Zig/Vence. A.M.") on verso, along with a short penciled list of fabrics and accessories with amounts needed. Gaudin, known as "Zig," created numerous costumes and posters for the great Parisian music hall Casino de Paris.
