Two quarto volumes, each with engraved title page and plates; copy A with rolled-tool gilt borders on boards and on flat spine, lacking cloth ties, all edges gilt, with marbled pastedowns and flyleaves, illustrated with 4 folding engravings and 14 full-page engravings; contents very nicely preserved; copy B with 4 folding plates and 14 full-page plates; bound in full red morocco, gilt extra in 17th century style, with flat spine and IHS emblem at the center of elaborate compartments tooled in gilt on both boards; (some staining and worming to contents, some plates torn and repaired or mounted; text leaf Zzz2 and one folding map torn with loss); gilt and gauffered edges; lacking cloth ties; both copies attractive; each 7 3/4 x 6 in.
