First edition, large octavo, with thirteen leaves of folding typographically printed tables, untrimmed throughout, partially unopened, bound in contemporary limp marbled paper covers, crisp throughout, 8 3/4 x 5 1/4 in.

Van Swinden is well-known for his extremely accurate climatic observations. In this work, he records temperature, barometric pressure, rain, wind, and many other very detailed measures of the weather between 1776 and 1779 in Franeker, Friesland in the Netherlands, where he taught, studied, and conducted his own research in mathematics and physics.
