(KING JR., MARTIN LUTHER.) Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Lincoln" rocker, 36 inches tall, cane back and seat, medium- to light patina consistent with age, bought for him and used by him at the home of his editor, Hermione Isaacs Popper. Np, [circa 1920s - 30s]

Hermione Isaacs Popper was Martin Luther King Jr,'s editor. She and her husband lived in White Plains, New York, where King would come to go over his manuscripts and approve the edits that she had made. King had asked if Ms. Popper could provide him with a rocker. The rocker was acquired in late 1966 by her nephew and his wife.
