(FILM.) Bill Pickett, World's Greatest Colored Champion. 'The Bull-Dogger.' One sheet poster, 41 x 27 inches, linen-backed; faint signs of creases where once folded; some professional archival repair to reverse. Jacksonville Florida: Norman Films, 1921

      Estimate $7,500 - 10,000

The 'Bull-Dogger' is quite possibly the rarest African American film poster ever made. Bill Pickett (1867-1932) was a genuine cowboy. He invented the practice of what we call 'bulldogging,' or steer wrestling. Like a lot of what used to be strictly ranch activities, bulldogging has become a rodeo sport.
