first edition, a provocative appropriation of salinger's iconic novel. A reproduction of the first edition of The Catcher In The Rye, appearing nearly identical except J.D. Salinger has been replaced by Richard Prince as the author both in the book and on the dust jacket. Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies. Shortly after publication, Prince peddled copies on a sidewalk along Central Park; it was also available at the Printed Matter BookFair the same year, but since then it has become rather furtive; we locate only one copy appearing at auction, and no records on ABPC or AE.Price Realized (with Buyer's Premium) $780
