      Charles Benedict Driscoll (1885-1951) was a journalist and author who wrote for the Witchita Eagle, Omaha Daily News and other organizations, with a special interest in the history of Irish-Americans and in pirates and piracy. On December 12, 2000, Christie's New York auctioned Driscoll's piracy reference library and related memorabilia: The Driscoll Piracy Collection Sold to Benefit the Witchita Public Library.
