      Sale 2510 Lot 40

NIKOLAI ANDREEVICH DOLGORUKOV (1902-1980) [AVIAZOT WILL HELP YOU TO MASTER ADVANCED TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT.] 1932.
      16x22 inches, 40 1/2x56 cm. Mospoligraf, Moscow.
Condition B+: repaired tears and minor flaking at edges; creases and minor abrasions in margins and image and along vertical and horizontal folds. Printed on thick paper. Matted and framed.
A rare photomontage promoting Aviazot, which appears to be an engineering program aimed at teaching mechanics more about the workings of aircraft. The sophisticated image combines the schematic drawing of a rotary engine, a classroom and a Tupolev ANT-9 trimotor aircraft. The dynamic typography announces "acceptance in miscellaneous aircraft - for the technical and economic independence of the USSR."

      Estimate $1,500 - 2,000
