      LOUIS FAIRFAX MUCKLEY.
      "The Faerie Queene." Group of 3 pen and ink illustrations from Edmund Spenser's work of the same name (London: Dent, 1897). Ink and wash on paper mounted to board. Sizes as given but approximate, as boards chipped unevenly around margins. Monogram in lower images. First image signed by Muckley, with his 27 Wellington Square, Chelsea address on verso. Matted and framed.

      Slaying in a duel, marked on verso as the illustration facing page 26, first four lines of volume 4. Signed by Muckley on verso. 394x325 mm; 15 1/2x12 3/4 inches * From Book I, Canto XI: "So as they traveled, lo! they gan espy | An armed knight towards them gallop fast." Partially titled on verso. Two halves joined in the center. 254x436 mm; 10x17 1/4 inches * Untitled, marked page 33, last lines 4 lines V-I (possibly "Ne wight with him but onely Talus went"). 482x356 mm; 19x14 inches, boards decorated with scrolls, edges crudely trimmed; publisher's contemporary notes on verso.
