Additional Details

The first document is a receipt for "allowence for thirtey foare men belonging to Conl. Stark's Reg't," signed by Nathan Hale (1743-1780). This was not the famous patriot-spy, but rather a New Hampshire Minutemen captain of the same name.
The other document is an order to a commissary named Davis: "Please to deliver Capt. Rob't Tweedell ten days provisions." It is signed by quartermaster Joseph Pearse Palmer (1750-1797) of Massachusetts, who had participated in the Boston Tea Party.
