first edition, first issue meeting all points, with green unserified spine imprint (Hanff & Greene binding variant A). The text and plates with the following first issue points: p. 2 with the publisher's ads enclosed in a box, p. 14 with "low wail on", p. 81 with "peices", p. 227 with "While Tin Woodman", the colophon with 11 lines set within a box, the plate facing p. 34 with two dark-blue blots in the face of the moon, the plate facing p. 92 with red shading to the horizon, and pages 100 and 186 with perfect type to the last lines.
