Early Spanish manuscript map of the Bay of La Paz on the southern Baja California peninsula. Mountain ranges and grasslands hint at the topography which is scattered with missions and small settlements. While the cartography is not terrifically accurate, the handsome composition is nicely finished with a compass rose and a pair of whales appearing in the waters north of Isla Espiritu Santo.
