Two panoramic chromolithographed scrolls spooled around two pairs of mechanically cranked reels in a glass-paned maple-body view box. Each scroll approximately 3 3/4x30 inches; box 5x5 1/213 1/4 inches; minor scratches, else remarkably nice, underside of base with replacement screws and a facsimile route map pasted on. A charming little device treating the viewer to a fabulous trip around Narragansett Bay from Providence to Block Island and back again. From the vantage of a paddle steamer we take in a continuous view of captioned sites both prominent and historic, passing by many other contemporary steamers along the way. The first scroll skirts the eastern shore of the bay and the second returns to Providence along the west.
