Rackham's sister, sleeping * Rackham's first studio. Together, 2 early graphite drawings on paper. The first measures 225x140 mm; 8 3/4x5 1/2 inches. Initialed in lower right corner; Studio measures 228x292 mm; 9x11 1/2 inches. Signed, initialed, dated May 26, 1892, and labled "New St. Kensington." Additionally signed by Rackham on verso with his address of 12 New Court Lincoln's Inn WC.

Additional Details

The studio sketch was created when Rackham was twenty-five years old and working as a reporter and illustrator for The Westminster Budget. His first book illustrations were published a year later in "To the Other Side" by Thomas Rhodes.
