Large Vostre device on title, with almanac for 1508-28 on verso; 25 full-page woodcuts, mostly of Gospel scenes, and 2 smaller illustrations depicting Anatomical Man and Holy Grail; each text page within different woodcut historiated border incorporating biblical, allegorical, and other subjects, including seasonal occupations, zodiac signs, and children's games in the calendar, and Dance of Death sequence in the Office of the Dead. [102] leaves. Printed in bâtarde type on paper, with contents uncolored apart from faint ruling in red and small manuscript initials alternately in red and blue throughout. 4to, 248x168 mm, 19th-century red morocco gilt with black and tan morocco onlays by Capé in Renaissance style with design of interlacing strapwork and foliate volutes on covers, green morocco doublures with intricate all-over pattern of interlacing circles and ornamental motifs, front cover detached, rear joint starting; light marginal soiling and indistinct inscription on title, contents otherwise generally clean. Bound at end are 3 leaves of contemporary manuscript prayers in French concluding with ownership inscription in Latin of Marielaine de Varny. Bookplates of Robert Hoe, Cortlandt F.
