Delaunay's magnificent portfolio of designs incorporating the color and design theory "Simultane" or, Simultaneous Contrast, the scientific concept propsed by Michel-Eugène Chevreul in 1839 of how the interaction of colors produces sensations of depth and movement. It was an idea that she and her husband, the artist Robert Delaunay, experimented with in the 1910s. This portfolio was published in 1925 to complement the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes.
