The quotation, 7 bars from his The Sorcerer's Apprentice, notated on a hand-drawn stave. 3x5 inches; faint stain at lower right corner. The letter, to an unnamed recipient ("Dear Sir and friend'), in French, apologizing for having missed his visit, noting that his own daughter's health is improved, and inviting him to visit again.
