This title is signed and inscribed by Riefenstahl to Dr. David Hinton, the author of The Films of Leni Riefenstahl (1978), the first book published on the subject. Hinton first met Riefenstahl in 1975 and remained friends with her until her death in 2003. The title was additionally inscribed to Hinton by Jesse Owens, who he met in Des Moines, Iowa. At that meeting, Owens noted that he had remained in touch with Riefenstahl.
