Additional Details

Depicts a major mining operation in Sonora, close to the Arizona border. American investor William Cornell Greene had formed this company in 1899, soon developed a major mining operation, and made a fortune. A bloody 1906 strike would soon draw the extralegal involvement of the Arizona Rangers and led to Greene's downfall, but the mine remains productive today. These photographs depict miners, mine operations, and the company town.
