Additional Details

A faithful copy of a very famous abolitionist painting. George Morland (1763-1804) was a successful artist, engraver and restorer. This work, which Morland originally titled "Execrable Human Traffic," was changed to simply "Slave Trade." It was so popular that copies like this one were sold to abolitionists and abolition societies to be hung in their quarters.
