DESIGNER UNKNOWN CUNARD / USA - CANADA. Circa 1920s.
39 3/4x24 3/4 inches, 101x63 cm. The British Colour Printing Co. Ltd., London.
Condition B+ / B: repaired tears at edges, some through text; creases, abrasions and restoration in margins and image; staining and foxing in upper and lower image. Mounted on Japan.
Elegant, sophisticated and windswept, a lovely passenger on deck has taken off her hat to let the wind blow through her hair as she gazes toward her destination. Through the railing, we see another Cunard liner steaming by in the opposite direction. Cunard only had three four-funnel vessels: the Lusitania which was sunk on May 7th, 1915, the Mauretania and the Aquitania. Certainly, the woman is sailing on one as the other passes by in the distance.
