Pursell designed several posters for the Chicago World's Fair. This image is the most dramtic, depicting the three towers of the Federal Building (representing the branches of government) jutting up into the text. The vibrant colors in Pursell's design may well have been representative of the neon lights that lit up the fairgrounds at night. Thirty-nine million visitors came to the fair during the two years it was open. Resnick 16, World of Tomorrow p. 19.
