Winfield Scott Hancock (1824-1886) was an important Union Major General during the Civil War, and was the Democratic candidate for president in the 1880 election against Garfield. Most of this lot consists of chromolithographed ephemera relating to his candidacy. Other highlights include a clipped signature as Major General from the war; a Magnus patriotic cover featuring Hancock's portrait; a glass slide of Hancock in uniform; a pair of local Democratic ballots from the 1880 election; and a miniature booklet, "History of General Winfield Scott Hancock."
